To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'SLZ.mp3' = '<SYSTEM32>\SLZ.mp3.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\track1.mp3.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\dedesktop.bmp
- <Drive name for removable media>:\SLZ.mp3.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Desktop.ini
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Sets a new unauthorized home page for Windows Internet Explorer.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\Desktop.ini
- C:\SLZ.mp3.exe
- C:\dedesktop.bmp
- <SYSTEM32>\SLZ.mp3.exe
- C:\AutoRun.inf
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\SLZ.mp3.exe
- C:\SLZ.mp3.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\dedesktop.bmp
- C:\dedesktop.bmp
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Desktop.ini
- C:\AutoRun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\SLZ.mp3.exe
- C:\Desktop.ini
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.inf
Deletes the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\SLZ.mp3.exe
