Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Microsoft Kernel Lab' = '%WINDIR%\Kernel23.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\shjkhfuiguoigb9g8b9iopt5jbgg0nohjn90hh0jyl5klbg0bg.txt.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %WINDIR%\Kernel23.exe
- C:\autorun.inf
- C:\shjkhfuiguoigb9g8b9iopt5jbgg0nohjn90hh0jyl5klbg0bg.txt.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- C:\autorun.inf
