To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run] 'winlogon' = '<SYSTEM32>\monit.exe'
Substitutes the following executable system files:
- <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\regedit.exe with <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\regedit.exe.new
- %WINDIR%\regedit.exe with %WINDIR%\regedit.exe.new
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\logonui.exe /status /shutdown
Attempts to shut down the Windows operating system.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\spn.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\monit.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\spn.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\monit.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %WINDIR%\regedit.exe

Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: 'StatusWindowClass' WindowName: ''
