Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Shell' = 'explorer.exe'
Substitutes the following executable system files:
- <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\explorer.exe with <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\explorer.exe
- %WINDIR%\explorer.exe with %WINDIR%\explorer.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Creates and executes the following:
- %HOMEPATH%\My Documents\FontInstaller.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\explorer.exe
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe shell32,Control_RunDLL "desk.cpl"
Terminates or attempts to terminate
the following system processes:
- %WINDIR%\Explorer.EXE
Forces autoplay for removable media.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
