To ensure autorun and distribution:
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\aosh.exe
Malicious functions:
To bypass firewall, removes or modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '<SYSTEM32>\aosh.exe' = '<SYSTEM32>\aosh.exe:*:Enabled:aosh'
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Creates and executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\aosh.exe
Modifies settings of Windows Explorer:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoFolderOptions' = '00000001'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\aosh.exe
- C:\Autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\aosh.exe
- %WINDIR%\aosh.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\aosh.exe
- C:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\aosh.exe
- %WINDIR%\aosh.exe
- C:\aosh.exe
