A Trojan program that steals virtual game items from Steam users so that the items can later be resold. Distributed with chat messages in Steam or other eStores; the messages include offers to buy or exchange certain game items. Example:
Hello. I like your weapon. Can you swap for my knife + weapon? (Look screenshot my knife + weapon).
While images of game assets are being displayed to the user, the Trojan searches the compromised PC's memory for steam.exe and extracts information about the available items.
Next, Trojan.SteamBurglar.1 picks the most valuable ones using such keywords as rare, immortal, or legendary.
All the items of value discovered are then put up for sale via Steam.
